Prom time is a special time of year, when new fashions and styles meet old-fashioned tradition. No matter how the styles of prom gowns and tuxedos change each year, the ceremony of presenting your prom or semi-formal date with a corsage or boutonniere remains an important part of the event. There are two types of corsages: the pin on corsage, and the wrist corsage.

  • Wrist Corsage: A wrist corsage is the most popular, consisting of a flowers that are attached to an elastic band that is worn on the wrist. These are the most popular as they don’t come off while dancing or moving, and nearly any type of flower can be used for these.
  • Pin-On-Corsage: The popularity of the pin on corsage is pretty much dictated by the style of the gown or dress being worn. This type of corsage is pinned to the dress on the left side of the chest. If the dress is strapless or of very light fabric, it can weigh it down, and a wrist corsage may be more appropriate.
